Duane Holt sees the future of utility GIS. He saw it 30 years ago when he was taking his first AM/FM class in Seattle, back before most utilities had digital records. And he sees it now, in the new Esri Utility Network.
“The Utility Network is a mashup of all the different methods of network topologies available,” Duane said. “That’s the powerful part of it.”
Listen to Duane speaking in a panel of exclusive Utility Network Beta testers at SSP iLLUMINATE. Duane is the GIS Director of the Intermountain Rural Electric Association (IREA), one of the first utilities to test drive the Utility Network Beta through SSP’s Utility Network Jumpstart package.
When Duane isn’t working diligently to keep IREA on the cutting edge of utility GIS, he’s probably smoking pulled pork or ribs in his Traeger Pellet Grill and possibly following one of close friend and former EGUG President Bill Wickersheim’s recipes. If not there, you may find Duane cheering his youngest daughter on the sidelines of her cheerleading squad.
Duane is proud to have worked with SSP on these projects:
Get preliminary feedback from a user panel of beta SSP Utility Network Jumpstart Users. Each panel participant tried the Utility Network during Esri’s restricted beta release. Now, for the first time, hear what it’s like to use the Utility Network. Attendees of SSP iLLUMINATE will have an exclusive and unprecedented access to a panel of Utility Network beta users. These […]
